Tehran, July 7, IRNA – Iran’s former ambassador to France stressed that nuclear issues should not be intermingled with political subjects and factional groupings, adding that the media should strongly take steps in line with Leader’s instructions and defend the system’s policy before performance of the nuclear negotiating team.
Speaking at a televised program on the closing days of the nuclear negotiations, Mohammad Sadeq Kharrazi further remarked that issues of foreign policy are rooted in Iran’s security and national identity, noting that the Supreme Leader has well specified the red line for nuclear activities.
“If the Western side demands more than international regulations and the Additional Protocol, it should know that the Islamic Republic has no fear of abandoning the talks and strongly return to the direction of its peaceful nuclear activities.”
Stressing that the negotiating team is after preserving authority and interests of the country, Kharrazi added Iran has emphasized that it intends to clarify but will not concede to any act with the change in words.
He pointed out that the country will not allow the big powers to exert pressure on Iran and deliver biased reports through the Agency (International Atomic Energy Agency) under the pretext of clarification, adding that to this end a neutral organization should supervise over the issue.
The veteran diplomat said that the negotiating sides have reached the agreement that in case of finalization of the talks, all the UN Security Council resolutions will be cancelled in the course of a general resolution and then Iran will abide by its commitments.
However, he added, in addition to the Zionist regime some regional and extra-regional countries through exerting pressures and influence are after hindering the talks to reach a conclusion as their interests in the world and the region are based on this.
He said history will tell the coming generations that resistance and steadfastness of the Supreme Leader, people and the negotiating team resulted in preservation of the achievements of nuclear scientists.
