World can use Iran?s experience to fight extremism: Analyst

Islamabad, Dec 23, IRNA – A Pakistani analyst has welcomed the approval of a resolution by Iran against violence and extremism and said that world countries can use the experience of the country in fighting extremism.

Talking to IRNA, Syed Qandil Abbas, assistant Professor of International Relations at Quaid-e-Azam University said that Iranian President Hassan Rohani’s World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) proposal reflects the sentiments of the whole world.


He added that passing of the resolution by 190 countries is the success of Iranian diplomacy.

President Hassan Rouhani in his address at the UN General Assembly in September offered Iran’s proposal to denounce extremism and violence.

Syed Qandil Abbas, expressing his views said that those who are responsible for the terrorism today are worrying to root out the menace.

The intellectual went on to say that Iran has been victim of terrorism for past 34 years but with their wisdom they have successfully defeated all kinds of terrorism.

Professor of International Relations viewed that the UN resolution based on Iranian proposal would maintain security and promote peace in the world and most importantly help in eradicating terrorism.

Syed Qandil Abbas added that Iran?s experience in fighting terrorism would help the world in rooting out this problem from the world.
