Tehran, April 28, IRNA – Senior Pakistani official Sartaj Aziz arrived here Sunday night with a special message of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for President Hassan Rouhani.
Aziz who is the National Security and Foreign Affairs Advisor to Prime Minister Sharif, arrived in Tehran heading a political delegation which also included a Foreign Ministry spokesman.
Aziz is in Tehran on a day-long visit as the special envoy of PM Sharif.
He is to meet with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to discuss major bilateral issues including security in Afghanistan after withdrawal of NATO forces as well as the latest regional developments such as the ongoing crisis in Syria.
He will submit Sharif?s special message to President Rouhani in a meeting which is to be held later today.
The visit to Iran of the Pakistani official is aimed at preparing the grounds for a visit to Tehran of the Pakistani premier in May.
