Iran is planning to hold the first film festival in Singapore to introduce the country’s cinematic productions.
Asghar Farhadi’s Academy Award-winning movie A Separation is scheduled to open the festival that will take place from June 19 through 24.
The Hidden Half by Tahmineh Milani, TheWedlock by Rouhollah Hejazi, So Far, So Close by Seyyed Reza Mirkarimi and I Feel Sleepy by Reza Attaran are among the festival’s film lineup.
A number of Iranian films had been earlier screened at the Singapore’s annual International Film Festival (SIFF).
Iranian filmmaker and actor Mehrshad Karkhani's National Alley was warmly received in the 24th edition of the Singapore International Film Festival in 2011.
