New Zealand eager to boost ties with Iran

29 Jun 2014 - 17:21

TEHRAN (FNA)- New Zealander Ambassador to Tehran Eamonn O’Shaughnessy said that his country has a plan to bolster political and economic ties with Iran, after Tehran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany) hopefully cut a final deal in their next round of talks on July 2.
In an exclusive interview with Iran Daily, O’Shaughnessy said that his country’s government and officials are closely watching what is happening in Iran’s nuclear talks with the six major world powers in Vienna, Austria and are hopeful that both sides would reach favorable outcome.

New Zealand has had an embassy in Tehran since April 1975, making it the country’s longest-standing mission in the Middle East.
