TEHRAN, July 14 (MNA) – The first solar-lift has been installed and operated in the main office of Iranian Atlas Company.
Iranian Atlas Company announced that the corporation, in compliance with government policies supporting energy consumption optimization and utilizing renewable energies, designed and installed a photovoltaic system for solar-lift in its main office.
As a major component in buildings, lifts usually consume between 3 to 8 per cent of electricity, which makes necessary efforts to optimize energy consumption in operation of elevators. Vahid Vakili, Iranian Atlas Company deputy-director for Planning said “company experts have designed a lift which provides the machine with electricity using solar panels.”
“A PV system is mounted on the lift which provides the lift with electricity produced by solar panels,” he added. “As such, this new generation of lifts consumes less electricity compared to energy used by normal lifts,” Vakili asserted.
He also added that collective energy consumption in apartment buildings was reduced which was a key issue for residents.
Simple and optimized design helped reduce operation and execution expenses, making it cost-effective.
Vakili said that omitting electronic and extra equipment of the lift solar panel improved its reliability and added to its active age, making it possible to be used in the country or export it to the other countries.
“The lift can be in service for several days in case of power outage. This invention will be registered in relevant governmental offices. The company sets as its main objective developing the technology in other applications,” Vakili maintained.
