Iran Youth Olympic team departs for China

 TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Iranian delegation left Tehran to take part at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
The Iranian young athletes departed from Tehran's Imam Khomeini international airport early Tuesday.



Iran will participate in the Youth Olympic Games with 16 athletes in swimming, judo, shooting, equestrian, athletic, taekwondo, volleyball, Greco-Roman and weightlifting.

“We can earn medal in weightlifting and taekwondo in the Youth Olympic Games. We can also win a medal in judo,” president of Iran's National Olympic Committee (NOC) Kioomars Hashemi told reporters at the farewell ceremony.

The 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games (officially known as The 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games) is the second Summer Youth Olympic Games, an international sports, education and cultural festival for teenagers, which be held from August 16 to 28 in Nanjing, People's Republic of China.
