Iran, Brazil to boost agricultural cooperation

TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (MNA) – Iran and Brazil’s Agricultural ministers have signed a joint statement to boost economic and agricultural cooperation.

Mahmoud Hojjati and Neri Geller in Sunday meeting discussed Iranian businessmen problems in Brazil as well as agricultural product imports from Brazil.


Iran’s agriculture minister emphasized on expansion of cooperation in economic and agricultural fields and added that the Islamic Republic seeks to increase investment in Brazil.


“We do not want only traditional trades, rather we can cooperate in expert, economic and agricultural fields,” said Hojjati and that “trades in the other country’s market should be expanded.”


Brazilian agriculture minister for his part emphasized on bilateral ties through oil trades and said that they seek closer and stronger ties with Iran.


He held that Brazil opens gates to the Iranian businessmen and hoped for more cooperation with Iranians.
