TEHRAN, Sep. 23 (MNA) – Iran has introduced five prominent Iranian Sacred Defense literary works to Frankfurt Book Fair.
One Woman's War: Da (Mother) a best-selling memoir by Seyyedeh Zahra Hosseini is a graphic delineation of the liberation of Khorramshahr; Chess with Juggernaut of the Apocalypse, a philosophical tale reflecting on the issues of war; Stories of the City of Warboth by Habib Ahmadzadeh, The Plain-Watcher and Journey to Heading 270 Degrees by Ahmad Dehqan (translated into English by Paul Sprachman) will be exhibited in Frankfurt Book Fair, Ramineh Rezazadeh, the head of Nowrouz Literary Agency was quoted to say.
In Chess with Juggernaut of the Apocalypse, the events unfold in a bizarre fashion, where the events turn out to be contrary to predictions. The book relates 3 days of life of a 17-year-old basiji trapped in a siege by Iraqis. The book was in its 18th printing and gone popular.
Stories of the City of War is a combination of six stories on Iran Sacred Defense against the Iraqi imposed war 1980-1988.
Journey to Heading 270 Degrees is a concrete and graphic description of everyday life in the time of war. The unparalleled imagery of war fought in action makes the very reading absorbing. The book has been awarded 20 Years of Story Writing, 4th Sacred Defense Book of the Year, and 20 Years of Resistance Literature prizes.
The Plain-Watcher narrates the story of a war-hit family who abandon their home. Naser, the narrator lives in Qasr-e-Shirin, a border city in western Iran. In another sense, the book features the love and friendship among fellow villagers.
Frankfurt International Book Fair will be held on October 16-20.
