TEHRAN Oct 14 (Shana)--President Hassan Rouhani has boasted that Iran’s oil sector got out of stagnation several months after he took office in August 2013.
“The first sector which got out of stagnation last winter was oil. Oil exports have grown 13.7 percent,” he said in a prime-time televised interview.
Rouhani said Iran’s gas production is to increase by more than 100 mcm/d this calendar year to March 2015.
The president said Iran’s economy shrank by 6.8 and 2.9 percent in the previous two calendar years.
Never had Iran experienced such a stagflation since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, said Rouhani.
The president said Iran has also registered growth in the tourism, industry and mining, car manufacturing and agriculture sectors.
