Tehran, Oct 21, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is to lead prayers in the burial ritual of the late Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Mahdavi Kani.


 
Ayatollah Kani was the chairman of the Assembly of Experts since March, 2011. He died in hospital on Tuesday.


The 83-year-old senior cleric was taken to hospital on June 4 due to heart problems. He had been in a coma since then.

The funeral procession for the deceased ayatollah is to take place on Thursday in Tehran University campus.
