Tehran, Oct 25, IRNA – Top nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran will under no circumstances give up even one iota of its legitimate nuclear rights.
Araqchi made the remarks in response to the recent allegations made by US Under-Secretary of State Wendy Sherman on Saturday.
Under the comprehensive plan of action, all sanctions should be lifted and maintaining even one sanction is totally out of question, he said.
Talks between Iran and G5+1 are going ahead with many ups and downs and it is not clear they would end by the deadline agreed upon by the two sides, he said.
There is no doubt that reflection of talks through media instead of negotiation table would not help resolve the issue but rather make them more difficult, he said.
Iran based on its principled policy which rules out weapons of mass destruction such as nuclear arms and on a religious decree issued by its Supreme Leader banning such weapons entered into negotiations and is to continue this path with good-will, Araqchi said.
Iran believes that the opportunity should be seized as its recurrence might be very difficult for all sides, he said.
"We believe that if the other side remains committed to its claims about peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, it will not be difficult to finalize the talks," he said.
The Iranian negotiating team is determined to remove all concerns with regards to the country's peaceful nuclear program and is ready to put it at the disposal of international community for their judgment, if required, he said.
Iran's principled stands in nuclear talks are crystal clear and it is ready to take any confidence building measures but under no circumstances will it give up its legitimate rights, Araqchi said.
It means Iran is determined to maintain all its nuclear capabilities and no research site will be closed or dismantled and the country's peaceful nuclear program will go ahead as before, he said.
All sanctions should be lifted and the country never agree to even one single sanction remaining in place, he underlined.
On regional developments, Araqchi said the policies of the US and its allies in the region are doomed to failure.
Current developments in the region mainly in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon prompted Iran to play its leading role in the campaign against terrorist groups and in helping restore stability and security to the region, he said.
Iran never lets any other country to interfere in its domestic affairs such as human rights, Araqchi underlined.
