In this edition of Iran, Reza Nayebi examines the anti-Iran movie “Argo” and the misrepresentations it made against Iranians and their culture.
Made on a budget of about USD 44 million by the Warner Bros, Ben Affleck’s Argo is replete with historical inaccuracies and distortions in a cinematic representation of the 1979 US embassy incident in Iran.
The movie, as well as its Oscar prize, is considered by critics as a move to promote Iranophobic sentiments.
This edition of the show also features Hoda Lezgee’s exciting report on Motor-racing in Iran, showing the young Iranian’s need for speed and adventure.
And the last segment of the show is a report on an Iranian architectural masterpiece; the outstanding Shushtar Historical Hydraulic System constructed at least 2 thousand years ago in Iran’s southwest.
