Tehran, Nov 20, IRNA -- Vice-President in Women and Family Affairs in a meeting with Nigerian Minister in Women Affairs and Social Development said that by strengthening solidarity among countries, expansion of radicalism and violence can be prevented.
According to the report of Government website, Shahindokht Mowlaverdi, in a meeting with the Nigerian minister Zainab Maina said, unfortunately, after kidnapping Nigerian girls by Boko Haram, we witnessed other radical moves in the region of the Middle East, which intend to tarnish the face of Islam.
Referring to good mutual ties, the VP called for bilateral cooperation in empowering women, especially in rural area.
She continued that Iran and Nigeria are two important countries in the Middle East and West Africa and have important roles in establishment of peace and stability in the region and world.
Maina, for her part, appreciated Iran's support in the case of kidnapped girls by Boko Haram in Nigeria and called for more bilateral interaction to use Iran's experiences in the field of women.
She added that the Nigerian government had done necessary policy makings to improve Nigerian women life and increase their role in economy.
She added that expansion of mutual ties between Iran and Nigeria can help our women to participate in development affairs.
Nigerian minister called for expansion of bilateral ties and continuation of Iran's support for Nigeria in international circles and demanded for Iran's help in development of Nigerian women situation.
