Tehran, Dec 24, IRNA - Dental services will be offered to rural pregnant women and children below 14 years, said the deputy health minister for health affairs.
Ali Akbar Sayyari added that based on the Rural Health Plan, one physician will offer medical care to 3,500 rural residents.
He announced that 436 basic medicines will be made available to rural medical centers, which will also provide people with supplements, such as iron tablets and vitamin drops.
Sayyari said six plans and eight projects will be implemented nationwide by mid-March 2015 under the framework of Health Overhaul Plan.
“As per this plan, 1,095 health houses have been built nationwide, which will be inaugurated by Feb. 11 to mark the anniversary of the victory of Islamic Revolution,” he said.
He noted that health files will be created for all Iranians and one health expert will serve 4,000 people.
Sayyari said health cards in three colors of green, yellow and red will also be given to people.
“Green color cards will be presented to those who are healthy, yellow to those who are vulnerable to various diseases and red to patients suffering from ailments,” he said.
Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi said last week strict supervision will be exercised over the Health Overhaul Plan.
“Extensive efforts are underway by health officials, physicians and nurses to implement the Health Overhaul Plan in the best possible manner,” he said.
Hashemi noted that the plan’s execution will lead to people’s satisfaction, as the government attaches special attention to people’s health problems.
