TEHRAN Dec 30 (Shana)--New chances have been created for Iran and Russia to increase their trade exchanges, the head of Iran’s Trade Development Organization has said.
“Given the tensions between Russia and the West, a new opportunity has been created for Iran to cooperate with Russia,” Valiollah Afkhami said.
He added that such obstacles as transportation, legal restrictions and quarantine have to be removed.
Afkhami said Iran-Russia trade dropped to $1.168 billion in 2013.
He said Iran’s state-run Bank Melli has opened a branch office in Russia to facilitate work for Iranian businessmen. He added that a new branch office of the bank is expected to open in Astrakhan.
