TEHRAN Dec 30 (Shana)--The oil-rich city of Ahvaz is poised to become the 7th Iranian city to be distributing euro-4 gasoline, managing-director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company said.
Abbas Kazemi said the city would start distributing the fuel in February as the third phase of Abadan oil refinery is to become operational.
He said that plans are also under way for the distribution of euro-4 gasoline in the southern city of Shiraz.
Kazemi said Iran’s gasoline production has increased while the country continues to import 4.5 ml/d of euro-4 gasoline.
The third phase of Abadan refinery includes catalytic cracking, isomerization, acid recovery, gasoline sweetening, sulfur production and liquefied gas sweetening units.
