Tehran, Dec 31, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said new anti-Iran US sanctions are against Washington's commitments and violate the Geneva nuclear Action Plan.
Talking to reporters during her weekly press briefing Wednesday morning, she made the remarks in reaction to the new sanctions against Iran.
In answer to query by IRNA, she stressed that the act by the US administration amidst the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the 5+1 contradicts its claims of good will and sheds doubts over the US intentions.
The spokesperson said Tehran believed the US decision for adopting new anti-Iran sanctions was of no practical effect on Iran's trade with other world countries.
She said Tehran was of the opinion that the US government adopted the measure because of its own internal political situation.
Afkham said such decisions would never influence the will of the Iranian government to act according to its responsibilities.
She also said the Iranian government will continue with its efforts to provide for its industrial and trade needs using all tactics and potential.
The spokeswoman stressed that the Iranian government never felt itself committed to the unfair sanctions being imposed on its legal and legitimate interests.
