Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA – Managing Director of Social Security Organization Taqi Nourbakhsh said on Monday that health tourism could prove essential to develop cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad.
Nourbakhsh made the remarks in a meeting of Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei with visiting Iraqi Minister of Health Adilla Hamoud Hussein.
Nourbakhsh voiced Iran's readiness to share experience with Iraq on social insurances and offering health tourism services.
Nourbakhsh said that the Social Security Organization, with 73 hospitals and 354 medical treatment centers, renders services to a population of 39.7 million.
He said that the organization is ready to cooperate with neighboring Iraq.
The Iraqi minister of health arrived in Tehran on Sunday upon an invitation by his Iranian counterpart.
