Kabul, Jan 20, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was seen off by Afghanistan Foreign Ministry Caretaker Atiqollah Atef Mel later on Tuesday before leaving for Tehran.
The Iranian foreign minister in his one-day visit of Afghanistan delivered President Hassan Rouhani's invitation to his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to pay a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In Kabul, Zarif met and conferred with the Afghan Government Executive Chief Abdullah Abduallah and National Security Adviser Mohammad Hanif Atmar on issues of mutual interest.
The Iranian top diplomat was accompanied by Deputy Minister for Asia and the Pacific Ebrahim Rahimpur, Khorassan-Razavi Governor-General Ali-Reza Rashidian, and Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham.
