TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) –- The 36th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution was magnificently commemorated in Russia attended by representatives of the Russian State Duma, members of the Liberal Democratic Party and students of Moscow School of History and Civilization.
In the event, Deputy Chairman of the Financial Markets Committee of the Russian Duma, while pointing to the friendly relations between Iran and Russia, praised the success made by Iran in the face of sanctions and expressed hope the removal of current barriers in the development of cooperation would further expand relations between Iran and Russia.
He said Russia considers Islamic Republic of Iran as a regional power and is ready to increase the level of relationships and develop all-out cooperation with Iran.
In the ceremony, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaii also highlighted the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in different areas, announcing independency and promotion of religious democracy in Iran among key indicators in the aftermath of the Islamic Revolution which have encountered a variety of pressures and sanctions imposed by the West. He stressed that Iranian people resisted against pressures and sanctions to maintain the independence of the country.
Despite international pressures, Sanaii stressed, Iran has made significant progresses to be a unique country in the Middle East in the field of nuclear sciences, aerospace, stem cells and military.
