TEHRAN (FNA)- 293,595 tons of ingots were produced by three major Iranian aluminum companies in the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2014- January 20, 2015).
The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced on Tuesday that the figure shows an increase of 893 tons compared with the preceding year’s output.
Iranian Aluminum Company produced 51.4 percent of the figure with 151,163 tons, while Almahdi Aluminum Company and Hormozal produced 80,147 tons and 62,285 tons respectively.
According to the report, the country produced 209,558 tons of alumina, 2 percent higher than last year’s output of 205,532 tons.
Iran is among the tenth mineral-rich countries worldwide, and is resolved not to send its raw materials abroad, instead, it has planed to process the country's minerals to earn more profit from their exports.
