TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Envoy to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh and IMO Secretary General Koji Sekimizu called for enhancement of mutual cooperation.
Speaking during a meeting in London on Tuesday, Habibollahzadeh, also Iran’s non-resident Chargé d'affaires in London, underlined his country's commitment to IMO standards as an old member of the organization.
He also stressed Iran’s readiness to promote cooperation with IMO.
Koji Sekimizu, for his part, hailed Tehran’s active presence at the London-based UN organization and called for expanded IMO-Iran cooperation.
IMO, a specialized agency of the United Nations, is the global standard-setting authority for the safety, security and environmental performance of international shipping.
