Tehran, Feb 5, IRNA – Iran and Russia are planning to hold a joint monetary-banking conference in Iran.
The event will be jointly organized by Iran-Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
In a meeting with the Russian officials, the Vice-Chairman of Iran-Russia Chamber, Kadir Kijafa regretted that the two friendly neighbors had no outstanding trade relations because of such problems as currency transfer.
He proposed the two countries hold a conference in Tehran to address the issue and other topics like visa, logistics and storage of commodities.
According to the report, the Joint Iran-Russia Chamber of Commerce is due to dispatch six trade delegations to Russia by the end of 2015.
Earlier this year in the month of Ordibehesht (April/May) the Russian energy minister stressed on the expansion of cooperation with Iran and underlined the need to increase bilateral trade up to $10 billion.
Iran-Russia trade last year in the two areas of import and export amounted to $1.05 billion, major part of which was in the field of agriculture.
