TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari underlined the Navy’s might and its capability to safeguard security in regional waters.
In an interview with Lebanon's Al Ahd news website, the senior commander said the Iranian Navy’s forces can ensure security in the Persian Gulf, Sea of Oman and Strait of Hormuz.
He also stressed the Navy forces’ preparedness to face threats, saying “We are at the peak of our readiness”.
Admiral Sayyari further warned against any aggression by the enemies.
Earlier this week, Iran’s Navy commander noted that constant presence in international waters is a strategy that his forces are pursuing.
“Presence in the high seas is very important and strategic for the (Iranian) Navy, and we have set targets for constant presence (in the high seas),” said at a naval conference on Monday.
Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
