TEHRAN March09(Shana)--National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) has signed agreements for cooperation with private Iraqi oil companies as part of its efforts to win foothold in Iraqi markets, managing-director of NIDC said.
“This memorandum is a prelude for the presence of this company in Iraq’s oil industry,” Heydar Bahmani said.
He said NIDC is viewing foreign markets as a source of income for the country, adding that presence in drilling market in southern Iraq, particularly in Basra province, is an objective pursued by this company.
Bahmani said Iranian drilling companies are currently able to meet one-third of drilling needs in the Middle East.
