TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers are designing a manned spacecraft to return astronomer from 150-200 kilometers away the earth.
Iran also unveiled an E1 manned spacecraft mock-up in Space Exploration Systems Research Center.
The research center has already designed Pajouhesh “Research’, Pishgam (Pioneer) and Kavoshgar 1, 2 and 3 explorers. It the now designing a manned spacecraft which would be capable of dispatching and returning astronomer to 150-200 kilometers away the earth.
It also wants to design, test, assemble and launch certain E-class spacecrafts to guarantee safe dispatch of the astronomer to the space.
The spacecraft is able to carry one astronomer and return the individual to the earth after conducting test launches and checking safety of its functions.
Design of the spacecraft includes three phases of conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design, and the mock-up has been built based on the results of the first two phases. Iranian experts at Space Exploration Systems Research Center are conducting the third phase of the study.
The third phase includes building, assembling and testing flight models, launching operations and interpreting the results.
