TEHRAN April 06(Shana)--9 towns and 1020 villages joined beneficiaries of gas services last year, Managing-director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Hamidreza Araqi said.
Speaking to Shana, Araqi said despite concentration on developing gas infrastructures last year, NIGC could extend access to gas supply services to one million people by laying more than 1.000 kilometers gas pipeline inside towns.
He further noted that last year the final section of IGAT-10 was connected to the national gas grid which raised sustainability of gas supply to Esfahan and Yazd provinces.

Furthermore, last year a number of gas pressure stations including Bijar, Hamedan, Khairgou, Dasht, Dehegh and Polkalleh became operational.
“These projects had been halted for several years but in 2013 NIGC decided to finish them over a specified time and completed them last year”, NIGC chief concluded.
