Tehran, April 15, IRNA – A delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) arrived in Tehran Wednesday morning.
The five-member team of nuclear experts led by IAEA's Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Safeguards Tero Varjoranta is to hold technical talks with the Iranian officials.
The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said yesterday that the delegation is to hold meetings with the Iranian experts on Wednesday and is to depart Tehran the same day.
He said Iran thinks it has left no items unanswered.
Based on an agreement signed between the AEOI Chief Ali Akbar Salehi and the Director General of the IAEA in Tehran about 18 months ago, he added, the two sides were obliged to take certain steps in phases.
He added Iran has already taken two steps ahead.
Seven issues were dealt with in the first phase, with 13 and 5 others in the second and third stages, Kamalvandi said, noting the UN atomic watchdog is still posing questions and Iran is providing answers.
