TEHRAN, Apr. 18 (MNA) – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council asserted that Saudi Arabia’s action on Yemen is considered invasion, not mere attack; however, Saudis are trying in vain.
On the sidelines of commemoration ceremony of Iraqi martyrs Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim and Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, Iran's secretary of Supreme National Security Council stated Iran has never been in search of dominating Iraq and its only goal in Iraq has been the nation’s independence and progress.
He said Iraqi Badr Corps has been established during Saddam Hussain regime and it is still serving the Iraqi nation but merely in the direction of sovereignty and development.
Noting the terrorism and the liberation of Tikrit by Iraqi army and voluntary forces, Shamkhani stressed the necessity of unity among different Iraqi ethnic groups as the core element of nation’s advancement and annihilation of terrorist groups and organizations.
“Saudis did invade Yemen to abolish the unity recently established in the region, however, they will have no achievements,” the official said regarding Saudi Arabia’s attacks on Yemen.
