Press TV petition urges S Arabia to stop attacks against Yemen

22 Apr 2015 - 16:31

Signatories to an online petition by Press TV have demanded an immediate end to Saudi Arabia’s airstrikes against Yemen, Press TV reports.

Over 4,300 people had signed the “Stop Saudi Invasion of Yemen” petition, on the global platform change.org by Wednesday morning, calling on the Saudi regime to stop its brutal attacks on the impoverished country of Yemen.

People from around the globe participated in the campaign, expressing their anger at the Saudi military aggression against Yemen.

“This is a violation of International Law because no country has the right to interfere in the internal matters of another country,” Afzak Tahir from the UK argued.

“It is moral obligation upon every human being to oppose the brutality and the barbaric aggression of Saudi and wild allies,” a petitioner from Australia, Hassani Mhammed Mehdi, noted.

“I truly believe that Saudi Arabia is committing genocide against the people of Yemen and this unjust aggression needs to be stopped now,” wrote Hanan al-Harazi, a Yemeni petitioner.

“US-Israeli puppet Saudi & his lobby should stop the aggression to Yemen and over the Arab countries,” wrote Mamunur Rashid Zihad, a petitioner from Singapore.

The petitioners have also condemned Saudi ties with the United States and Israel against Muslims across the world.

Saudis never use their power against Israel, and have always collaborated with Israel and America, the worst enemies of Islam, commented Ali Abbas from Pakistan.

Saudi Arabia started its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a close ally of Riyadh.

According to Yemeni health ministry, over 950 people have been killed with over 3,900 others injured during the aggression.

The humanitarian situation in Yemen is rapidly deteriorating. Many international aid organizations have sought to dispatch medical and other humanitarian supplies by air and sea to civilians in need.
