Tehran, April 26, IRNA – Iran's Habibollah Akhlaqi got a gold medal on the last day of the International Bulgarian Wrestling Tournament Sunday. Omid Noruzi and Ali Jebeli got two bronze medals.
The latest wins increased the number of the Iranian Free-Style and Greco-Roman teams to seven in the tournament.
The Bulgarian Dan Kolov and Nikola Petrov international tournament which began on April 24 in the presence of wrestlers from 26 countries in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital city, will end today.
The Iranian Greco-Roman team's five athletes gained two gold and two bronze medals and the four-member Iranian Free-Style team gained two silver and one bronze medal in the competition.
In 66 kilogram class Omid Noruzi in his first match beat his Italian competitor 8-0 and his second competitor fro Norway ten-nil.
After that match Noruzi was faced with biased judging of the referees, gained two warnings and was thus defeated in competition against Ebrahim Qanem from Egypt to lose the final.
In semi-final he beat Anis from Turkey 7-1 to gain the tournament's bronze medal.
