The coach of the Iranian national soccer team Carlos Queiroz has paid his taxes and is no longer banned from leaving the country, said the head of Tehran Tax Department Mohammad Reza Nouri.
The official added, “Part of the tax bill which was definite has been paid. As for the remaining unpaid tax which is disputed [by Queiroz], a legal procedure is underway to settle the dispute and we will release a final decision in the next two days.”
Earlier, in an interview, Queiroz had described himself as a hostage who got stuck between the Iranian National Tax Administration and the Football Federation.
