The Royal Court of Saudi Arabia has released a statement saying that Salman bin Abdulaziz – the Saudi king – will be given a new title “Imam”.

The statement further said that after King Salman voiced his willingness to change his title to Imam, the Council of Senior Scholars confirmed that Salman bin Abdulaziz’s official title change to Imam Salman.
