Tehran, May 12, The Iran Project - 105 Iranian women publishers take an active part at the 28th Tehran International Book Fair, putting 4,000 book titles on display, IRNA reported.
Presenting more than 200 new book titles, Iranian women publishers have a strong presence in the Fair and their cultural activities have provided employment to 300 people in this area.
Head of board of Directors of Women publishers Employers Association, Parvin Sedghiani, said that women publishers who are active in different fields, including literature, social sciences, women, philosophy, etc. aim at publishing attractive titles to increase the per capita reading.
Over the past 40 years, Iranian women have increasingly participated in social and cultural developments and International Book Fair is one of the cultural events where they have always had an active presence.
The 28th Tehran International Book Fair with the motto ‘Reading, Conversing with the World’ opened on May 6 at Imam Khomeini (RA) Prayer Ground in Tehran and run for ten days.
Over 2,450 Iranian publishers and 2,800 foreign publishers are participating in this cultural event.
