Tehran, May 20, The Iran Project – Britain has always tried to make a conflict between Shia and Sunni, Ayatollah Sobhani, a senior Iranian cleric, says on Wednesday, Tasnim news agency reported.
Referring to Prophet Muhammad’s concern for the conflict among his Ummah, Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani said that to resolve the disputes between Sunnis and Shias, we should focus on the common points.
Also, grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi who had described the Saudi-led aggression on Yemen as a plot by hegemonic powers aimed at pitting Muslim people against each other, said that blatant genocide in this country shows the West and Saudi Arabia’s return to the barbarism and ignorance of prehistoric age.
Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi had previously criticized silence of international forums over Saudi Arabia’s military aggression against Yemen.
The United Nations (UN) says that, since March 19, over 1,800 people have been killed and 7,330 injured due to the conflict in Yemen.
