Iran not to accept additional protocol with general access

8 Jun 2015 - 18:13

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Deputy of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said that the protocol is not a general license, and they (IAEA’s experts) can’t go anywhere at any time in the sites of ‘our country.’

Although there is general access in the Additional Protocol, there is no reference to military sites, Kamalvandi added.

If access to non-nuclear sites is not possible, sampling of neighboring areas can take place, Kamalvandi noted.

He stressed that in Additional Protocol the subject of interview with scientists is not included and the first step of IAEA should be certification and accreditation of document and if the documents are fake, IAEA should not give permission (to foreign experts to inspect).

He stressed that we don’t accept Additional Protocol to permit general access to our sites.

Kamalvandi said Iran is ready to access (IAEA) for expecting Marivan’s site, providing the claimed points should be specified.
