Iranian archer wins silver medal

TEHRAN, Jul. 13 (MNA) – Iranian para-archers brought home two medals from World Ranking Competitions in Czech.On Sunday, Iranian archer Somayyeh Abbaspour bagged a silver medal for Iranian team of archers in Czech making a total of a gold medal and a silver one for Iranian squad.

Iranian physically-challenged sportswoman Somayyeh Abbaspour won a silver medal in the women's individual compound section later in the day with a total score of 672 points.

Her Russian competitor, Stepanida Artakhinova, earned 679 points in total and grabbed the gold, while Sweden’s Zandra Reppe scored 665 total points and finished third.

The Czech Target 2015 officially opened in Nove Mesto nad Metuji on July 8, and finished on July 11.

A total of eight athletes were representing Iran in the competitions. Athletes from 25 countries were in action to receive medals.

Ebrahim Ranjbar, Gholamreza Rahimi, Hadi Nouri, Kazem Tan, Majid Kakoush, Farzaneh Asgari, Razieh Shirmohammadi, and Somayyeh Abbaspour were the Iranian archers who competed in this tournament.

Iran’s squad was coached by Nicholavic, Mostafa Habibian, and Kolsoumeh Gholami.
