Tehran, July 21, IRNA – Iran's chief nuclear negotiator termed the early adoption of Resolution 2231 positive and said the action taken by the UN Security Council on Monday was mong provisions of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached on July 14 in Vienna.
Abbas Araqchi made the remarks in the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission session of Majlis on Tuesday.
Resolution 2231 on removing anti-Iran sanctions was discussed in the session and Araqchi answered questions of members of the commission.
He referred to removal of sanctions, continuation of enrichment, continuation of nuclear activities, cancellation of the UN Security Council 's resolutions, removing Iran from provisions of Chapter 7 of the UN Charter among important achievements of JCPOA.
Araqchi said the resolution annulled former resolutions, because it is talking about new relations with Iran and underlines Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, which are all positive.
