The European Union's top diplomat is to visit Iran and Saudi Arabia next week to discuss the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini’s office says she will visit Saudi Arabia on July 27 to discuss "regional issues in the aftermath of the agreement.”
She will then visit Iran on July 28 for "exchanges on the implementation of the agreement," among other things.
Mogherini helped broker the July 14 accord, under which sanctions against Iran will be gradually removed in return for Tehran accepting long-term curbs on its nuclear program.
The agreement has met with concern in the Middle East, where some countries such as Saudi Arabia fear the lifting of sanctions could expand Iran's influence in the region, considered as destabilizing.
