Iran removes euro and dollar from its trade exchanges
Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Shamseddin Hosseini said Monday that Iran would no longer use euro and dollar in its trade exchanges according to a decission made by the government's economic working-group. "Iran's government is determined to remove euro and dollar from its foreign trade and is to change its foreign trade pattern," said the minister while speaking to reporters at the end of a meeting with the representatives of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member countries.
Tajzadeh defends raising the issue of free election in Iran
A former Iranian official has advocated raising the issue of ‘Free Election’ despite oppositions, forewarning about the future of Iran’s political system. Mostafa Tajzadeh, the former deputy interior minister and a member of dissolved Mojahedin of the Islamic Revolution Organization, has criticized opposing the issue of free election as a codename for sedition.
Mehmanparast: IAEA delegation to visit Tehran on Wednesday
The IAEA delegation will visit Tehran on Wednesday, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said, speaking live on Iranian television, IRINN reported. According to Mehmanparast, the Deputy head of IAEA Herman Nackaerts will be the one visiting Iran.
Ben Affleck: Iran’s plan for Argo response film is ‘badge of honour’
Argo director Ben Affleck has described suggestions that Iran is planning a film telling the other side of the 1979-81 hostage crisis as a "badge of honour" for his critically acclaimed drama. Speaking at the weekend prior to his film's surprise double win at the Golden Globes on Sunday night – Argo won best film while Affleck won best director – the actor turned film-maker said he was pleased to have delivered something so powerful that the Iranian authorities felt the need to hit back.
