Tabriz, Aug 18, IRNA - The Iranian and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic officials in a meeting here in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan called for facilitating the costoms affairs in the fields of passengers and commodities.
During the meeting, the chairman of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic State Customs Committee Asef Mamedov called for reinforcement of mutual cooperation in the fields of trade and passenger transportation.
Mamedov also calls for utilization of available customs capacities aimed at facilitating the transfer of goods and passengers.
The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is a landlocked exclave of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The region covers 5,500km2 with a population of 410,000, bordering Armenia to the east and north, Iran to the south and west, and Turkey to the northwest.
