TEHRAN Sept. 22 (Shana) -- Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) is ready to start construction of the Iran-Oman gas pipeline, IOEC chief said.
Gholamreza Manouchehri told Shana that the company enjoys the requirements for laying the subsea pipeline which is expected to deliver 28 mcm/d of Iranian natural gas to Oman through Persian Gulf waters.
IOEC has conducted appraisal studies of the project's sea section.
"Given the company's high proficiency in developing offshore projects, chances are that the pipeline project will be awarded to IOEC," he said.
He said, however, that the company would welcome partnerships for completion of the project as some Omani companies have voiced their willingness to operate on the project.
Iran agreed in 2013 to export 28 mcm/d of gas to Oman through a subsea pipeline for 15 years.
