Iranian Majlis Cultural Commission has expressed worry about the nature of video calls via Iran’s Rightel Communication Networks that might violate Islamic principle about relations between men and women.
Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Ali Taheri said in an interview with ISNA News Agency on Monday that members of the Cultural Commission were worried that during such video calls Islamic law (Sharia) might be violated as non-Mahrams (People in front of whom women have to cover their hair and body) might interact with each other without observing this principle.
The Commission has requested officials from Iran’s Communication Ministry to report to Majlis and allay their concerns.
This is while in social networks, Iranian internet users have treated the issue lightly and as fun.
