MASHHAD, Oct. 19 (MNA) - Visiting the holy city of Mashhad, the Chairman of Xinjiang Province Shohrat Zakir said: “Iranians are very hospitable and I got to learn a lot about Iranian-Islamic civilization and culture.”
The official, who is visiting Iran and Mashhad for the first time, was astonished by the holy shrine of Imam Reza – Shias' 8th Imam saying that the site’s architecture was stunning and unique which will remain in my mind forever.
The Iranians are joyful and hospitable people he said and added “On my return to Xinjiang I will invite all my friends to travel to Mashhad.”
Paying a visit to conferences and exhibition’s centers of Astan Quds Razavi, he noted: “The center’s activities have flourished the people’s lives in the region in all aspects particularly economically.”
He added that since many Muslims live in Xinjiang I hope that we can boost communication in a near future.
The Chinese delegation has traveled to Mashhad to expand ties.
Relations between Iran and China's Xinjiang province date back to ancient Silk Road.
The province is located in northwestern China and is one of the country’s important agricultural and industrial hubs.
