Kuala Lumpur, Oct 23, IRNA – Vietnam's President Truong Tan Sang on Friday welcoming signing of JCPOA in a meeting with Iran's new envoy said that it will contribute to regional and international peace and stability and asked for broadening comprehensive ties with Iran.
Iran's new Ambassador to Hanoi Saleh Adibi deliverer his credentials to President Sang in his Presidential Palace and conveyed President Hassan Rouhani's best seasonal greetings to him.
The Vietnamese leader in the meeting proposed in particular expansion of bilateral ties in oil and gas, agricultural, tourism and joint investments fields.
The two sides in the meeting surveyed the current level of bilateral ties and the future perspective of them, as well as the latest status of the volatile Middle East region and international developments.
They both expressed hope that the level of bilateral trade ties will in near future increase drastically and were agreed on the point that frequenting of both countries' high ranking officials in each others' capitals was needed for further expansion of ties.
Ambassador Adibi said that expansion of parliamentary ties was one of the priorities in his agenda during his tenure in Vietnam.
He referred to the two countries' prevailing cooperation in oil and gas discovery, where the Petro Vietnam is cooperating with Iranian firms in Danan Block and expressed hope that that cooperation will expand.
The National Iranian Oil Company and Petro Vietnam Company in the year 2007 signed a contract for rapid discovery and evaluation of hydrocarbon resources in Danan Block which had won an international tender in the field.
