Moscow, Nov. 4, IRNA - Minister of Justice Mostafa Pourmohammadi said joint measure taken by Iran and Russia have been effective in shaping the events in the regional and international arenas.
Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) in St. Petersburg, he said the transparent stands taken by the both countries have facilitated formation of bilateral cooperation as well as their further convergence.
Welcoming the cooperation between Iran and Russia during nuclear negotations, the minister said, 'Both countries have reached the conclusion that they can meet many of their needs by relying on the other side.'
'There is satisfactory cooperation between Muslims and Christians in Russia which positively influences the religious interaction,' he added, 'It will be our endeavor to bolster bilateral relations by employing the capacity of Russia's Muslim community.'
Pourmohammadi said that his talks with the head of Russia's Mufti Council Ravil Gainutdin were very useful as both sides stressd the necessity to fight terrorism.
On Monday, during his speech in the convention, he urged member of the the world community to double their efforts in eradicating economic and political corruption, terrorism, and arms and drugs smuggling.
