MANILA (Sputnik) — The crash of the Russian A321 in Egypt and a series of terrorist attacks in Paris is a great loss, and the war has been declared against the civilized world, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday.
"The terror attack on our liner and the attacks in Paris are great human cost. These events have exacerbated the global political agenda. War has been declared against the entire civilized world. The threat is global and, alas, is absolutely real," Medvedev told journalists upon arrival in Manila, where he will participate in the APEC Summit.
Dmitry Medvedev also noted that the course of some Western countries to isolate Russia looks strange amid recent terrorist attacks, this position is shortsighted and harmful to the world, Russian Prime Minister Wednesday.
"Let the world fly to hell, but we do not want to work with Russia. Especially now, the position of some Western countries towards Russia looks weird," Medvedev told reporters.
The Russian prime minister added that it was a harmful and short-sighted position directed against their own people, which causes terrorism to prosper.
"Of course, Russia can live without these contacts. We will, as before, confront terror on our own and win in this struggle. Probably, the West can survive too. The question is at what cost. But my deep conviction is that in this struggle we must be together," Medvedev added.
