Islamabad, Dec 8, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif in a meeting here with deputy prime minister of Pakistan stressed the great significance of prevailing regional developments, including the situation in Afghanistan.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process Conference, Zarif said in the meeting with Sartaj Aziz in addition to discussing bilateral ties, he sought regional cooperation with Islamabad to restore regional peace and security, especially in Afghanistan.
The two sides agreed that strengthening regional cooperation aimed at boosting the international campaign against terrorism is a dire need today.
Zarif had after arriving in Islamabad considered extremism and terrorism as the main threats against the regional peace and security.
'I will in my address at the conference elaborate on the need for strengthening the campaign against terrorism and extremism,' he said.
