Algiers, Dec 17, IRNA – Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in a meeting here on Thursday discussed bilateral ties and regional developments.

During the meeting in the Algerian capital, Jahangiri and Bouteflika underlined the need for the expansion of mutual cooperation.

On Wednesday, Jahangiri underlined that his visit to Algeria would take place in line with Tehran's efforts to remedy the crude prices in the international markets.

'We should find ways to prevent further sudden downfall of oil prices in the international markets,' Jahangiri told reporters before departing for Algeria for a two-day visit.

The Iranian first vice president pointed to the status quo of Tehran-Algiers ties, and said, 'Algeria is a Muslim country that has close relations with Iran.'

He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran pays serious attention to the broadening of mutual cooperation with the African countries, including Algeria.
